Abstract

During the 2012 season, the team of the DHER (Domus Herculanensis Rationes) project has undertaken the analysis of the paintings and mosaics of the baths of the Casa dell’Albergo. For the first time a complete photo- grammetric campaign has been carried out, supplemented by detailed documentation and records of decorative features by tracing. The bath complex is one of the most remarkable examples of Second Style in Herculaneum and it is of particular importance since its paintings appear to have been based on models borrowed from Rome’s contemporary wall painting. The ongoing study encompasses interpretative reconstruction by means of vector drawings.
