Le origini e il valore permanente della letteratura periodica culturale (spunti da uno scritto di Ugo Foscolo)

Taking its cue from Ugo Foscolo’s essay on journalism, Letteratura italiana periodica (1824), this work makes a few bibliographic re ections about the theory of periodical literature. In particular, it sheds light on the underlying problems of such literary genre and its connections with quite different worlds, such as journalism, science and literature, all of which are part of the wider world of communication. Therefore, periodicals can be viewed as one of the tools through which an educated, well-informed society bears testimony to, spreads, and also supports or destroys, the new ideas and achievements of social progress.
