Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) is a chronic autoimmune skin disorder, typically characterized by well-defined erythematous lesions with thick adherent scales and follicular plugging. It usually affects photo-exposed skin, particularly on the scalp, forehead and cheeks. Isolated eyelid involvement is uncommon and frequently lacks the typical clinical morphologic findings, imposing a diagnostic challenge and a potential delay in the provision of therapy
