This paper illustrates the advantages to evaluate inequality between population subgroups with respect to a maximum compatible with the observed data, thus going beyond the traditional approach to the analysis of inequality between, where the maximum corresponds to total inequality. The new proposal improves both the measurement and the interpretation of the contribution of inequality between to total inequality.

Abstract
This paper illustrates the advantages to evaluate inequality between population subgroups with respect to a maximum compatible with the observed data, thus going beyond the traditional approach to the analysis of inequality between, where the maximum corresponds to total inequality. The new proposal improves both the measurement and the interpretation of the contribution of inequality between to total inequality.File in questo prodotto:
