This study focuses on the publication of the 25 tombstones from the ancient Jewish cemetery in Venice Lido. The selected transcribed and translated epitaphs span a period of two centuries, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, and have been selected for their diversity, uniqueness and fame of some of the deceased. The analysis shows that the Jewish epitaphs not only form a document with artistic value, but also an important historical and literary source. The present contribution stems from a new appreciation for the study of the Jewish tombstones throughout Italy.
