Digital lending of e-books by public libraries — ruled by EU Court of Justice in the Case No 174/15, Vereniging Openbare Bibliotheken—confirms, inter alia, how the basic provisions and the main principles on copyright can (and even must) adapt themselves to virtual reality, as well as to new technologies, with no need of new acts or principles at any time. Such adaptive construction, however, must concern both rules and exceptions or limitations, which necessarily go on in parallel; otherwise, copyright shall increase more and more, while correspondent exceptions or limitations shall become outdated, unbalancing the whole system.

Abstract
Digital lending of e-books by public libraries — ruled by EU Court of Justice in the Case No 174/15, Vereniging Openbare Bibliotheken—confirms, inter alia, how the basic provisions and the main principles on copyright can (and even must) adapt themselves to virtual reality, as well as to new technologies, with no need of new acts or principles at any time. Such adaptive construction, however, must concern both rules and exceptions or limitations, which necessarily go on in parallel; otherwise, copyright shall increase more and more, while correspondent exceptions or limitations shall become outdated, unbalancing the whole system.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
