From the beginning of the dynastic period Seth, one of the most ancient deities of the Egyptian pantheon, was strongly associated with kingship and the legitimacy of royal power. This article analyses the presence, use and meaning of his figure on the wall of the temples from the Old Kingdom until the Late Period.

Abstract
