Abstract

Two US contemporary TV comedies, Master of None (2016-) and Atlanta (2016-), illustrate how the entire genre is crossed by deep transformations and slight changes. Distribution methods and consumption practices influence and reshape textual models, production routines, and established genre defnitions. And even the basic forms of audience engagement in comedy need to be at least partially reinvented in this new scenario.
