PER LA ‘RISCOPERTA’ EUROPEA DELLE TRAGEDIE DI SENECA: NOTE SULLE TROIANE IN ALCUNI MANOSCRITTI E COMMENTI MEDIOEVALI

The essay explores the manuscript tradition of the tragedies of Seneca, in particular the one dated 14th century, and the role of Bologna's textual transmission, explored with the aid of the manuscript of Biblioteca Universitaria di Bologna, nr. 2219, as well. The focus of the essay then shifts to the discussion of some important texts of the Troades, with particular regard to a text transmitted by the mss. Vat. Lat. 1769, Urb. Lat. 355 and Vat. Lat. 1650 (which are collated for the occasion). The essay ends with an example dedicated to the particular Petrarca's interpretation of the Troiane and with the review of three significant loci of Seneca's tragedy.

Nel saggio si indaga la tradizione manoscritta delle tragedie di Seneca, in particolare quella del XIV secolo, e si valorizza il ruolo della trasmissione bolognese, anche attraverso il codice Bologna, BUB 2219. Si passa poi alla discussione di alcuni luoghi testuali delle Troades, in particolare un brano per il quale si collazionano i mss. Vat. Lat. 1769, Urb. Lat. 355 e Vat. Lat. 1650. Segue un esempio dedicato alla particolare lectura di Petrarca delle Troiane e infine all’interpretazione di tre loci significativi della tragedia senecana.
