Abstract
Is Durkheim’s text Les formes élémentaires de la vie religieuse still useful? What can we further learn from his last oeuvre? Undoubtedly, Durkheim’s legacy is nevertheless alive and, above all, full of paths still to be taken, especially with regard to the role of religion in social life. Since 1994, Durkheimian Studies/Études Durkheimiennes, the prestigious review of British Centre for Durkheimian Studies, founded by William S.F. Pickering and other durkheimians partisans, has be-come an important and international meeting point for all those who want to be part of the Durk-heim family and to advance in durkheimian thought. For this reason, the author seeks to outline some fil rouge between different relevant and original contributions to the theme of religious life and society and which have been published by the review of the Centre. In particular, rite, belief, and who can or can not take part in the rite are the main arguments around which the reflections arise.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
