Editorial note by Carol O'Sullivan: "Translation studies has always had a historical component, which has been coming increasingly to the fore in recent years. This Forum brings together a position paper by Christopher Rundle on the relationship between the disciplines of translation studies and history and responses by three distinguished scholars: Paul St-Pierre, Theo Hermans and Dirk Delabastita."
