Abstract
The study concerns the restoration project of the Punta of Guardia lighthouse on the Ponza Island, Italy. Just in this last period, the Italian government has considered these buildings in order to recover, both for their great charm, that for the evocative landscaped context in which they are. Buildings with a strictly functional role, have acquired value as historical sites. The lighthouse in question was built in 1886, on a sea stack near the Tyrrhenian Sea, from the analysis is presented as a perfect engineering machine, given the role to which they must carry out and its place in hostile environments. The study was accompanied by an historical research of the building, the execution metric and photographic surveys, the materials and construction techniques and as a result of analysis of the degradation and restoration work. All these operations were the prelude for the preparation of a project on the conservation of surfaces and the renovation of the structure, addressing mainly due to humidity problems in all its forms. Then, the restoration has had a conservative order and structure protection in order to strengthen its maritime signaling connotation. This work was preparatory to a project to a new use. Few material has been removed and few regard was entered to 'only to make it livable and safe outdoor spaces and interior of the lighthouse. Architectural object has been assigned a tourist connotation in full respect of the attitude of the lighthouse itself in the collective, as a place that offers an open and flexible tourism type, a lighthouse accommodation that is based on ENVIRONMENT, CULTURE and SUSTAINABILITY. All the choices are marked by a sobriety pointing to the recovery of the emotions and feelings of a life in a lighthouse.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
