The so-called nuclear revival worldwide is investigated for environmental impact, technical feasibility, nuclear fuel availability, market competition, financial risk and macroeconomic impacts. The resulting picture, based on a review of more than one hundred LCA literature studies worldwide points out the existence of a large uncertainty on all the main aspects of the nuclear energy system, thus preventing the policy maker from relying on a stable and certain set of feasibility indicators. Uncertainty therefore becomes the driving concept in decision making about nuclear energy.

Abstract
The so-called nuclear revival worldwide is investigated for environmental impact, technical feasibility, nuclear fuel availability, market competition, financial risk and macroeconomic impacts. The resulting picture, based on a review of more than one hundred LCA literature studies worldwide points out the existence of a large uncertainty on all the main aspects of the nuclear energy system, thus preventing the policy maker from relying on a stable and certain set of feasibility indicators. Uncertainty therefore becomes the driving concept in decision making about nuclear energy.File in questo prodotto:
