Drawing on the assumption that the market and family life are two related spheres whose values and meanings are formed together, this paper seeks to investigate the sphere of consumption focusing on children’s practices and representations, their ways of negotiating and circumvent the prohibitions of parents, their strategies, and the sense that they give to consumption in their daily lives. In particular, the paper will deal with the world of consumption from the perspective of children but without separating it from the adult world.
