The article analyses from the historical point of view as well as in the present the issue of the social responsibility of wealth and compare the United Stated with Europe. it also presents several case studies in the two continents and illustrated the dynamic that characterized the issue in the larger framework of instituional philanthropy. It also addresse the issue of the role of cultural religeous and instituional factor in sheping different concet and practices of the responsibility of wealth.
