In this study, the author illustrates some special features of the colophons contained in the extant medieval Hebrew manuscripts, among those produced by Jews in the Middle Ages. The number of medieval surviving manuscripts is only about 40,000, of which only 3,000 ( 7.5%) are dated and only 3% localized. In these 40,000 medieval Jewish manuscripts there are colophons only in 4,200 (10%), the oldest of which dates back to the year 903/4 e.v. and in them are mentioned about 4,500 names of scribe, some famous who copyists dozens of manuscripts, other illustrious unknown people.
