When talking about violence in football, it is not right to just talk about supporter violence. The violence of the players themselves has to be considered, particularly when they show aggressivity towards their opponents on the pitch. But by saying that football is sick, it is not just relative to this violent behaviour, but more a reaction to the lack of understanding as to what leads players to take performance enhancing drugs, why the officials in competitions are corrupt and why betting and matches are rigged. The ad hoc legislation that already exists, specifically designed to guarantee the legality of sporting competitions, only underlines the gravity and extent of the problem.

Abstract
When talking about violence in football, it is not right to just talk about supporter violence. The violence of the players themselves has to be considered, particularly when they show aggressivity towards their opponents on the pitch. But by saying that football is sick, it is not just relative to this violent behaviour, but more a reaction to the lack of understanding as to what leads players to take performance enhancing drugs, why the officials in competitions are corrupt and why betting and matches are rigged. The ad hoc legislation that already exists, specifically designed to guarantee the legality of sporting competitions, only underlines the gravity and extent of the problem.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
