La crisi segregata: criminalizzazione e costruzione del nemico interno a Zingonia

Criminalization and the Construction of the Enemy within in Zingonia The article is focused on an empirical research conducted by the authors in Zingoia (Bergamo, Italy). This industrial and urban area was interested by the economical crisis since 2008, with specific reference to the local mot important economies (small factories ad building sector). Historical continuity from internal to international mi- gration flows is related to the processes of workforce substitution and residential segregation. Through ethnographic techniques the researchers develop a reflection on the specific forms of criminalization in the area, where waves of moral panic and ambivalent perception of the autochthonous tend to give a peculiar shape to securi- tarism and penal populism
