René Guillot is a well known author in the field of children's literature, or at least he was, especially in the 1960s. On the contrary, it is little known that, at the beginning of his career, Guillot wrote several novels not intended for children, which cover almost exactly the period of the 1930s. This article proposes some reading perspectives for these novels and suggests why it would be useful to take them back into consideration. Particular attention is paid to Guillot's most complex novel, Histoire d’un Blanc qui s’était fait nègre (1932).

Abstract
René Guillot is a well known author in the field of children's literature, or at least he was, especially in the 1960s. On the contrary, it is little known that, at the beginning of his career, Guillot wrote several novels not intended for children, which cover almost exactly the period of the 1930s. This article proposes some reading perspectives for these novels and suggests why it would be useful to take them back into consideration. Particular attention is paid to Guillot's most complex novel, Histoire d’un Blanc qui s’était fait nègre (1932).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
