This paper discusses the results of the research Lodovico Antonio Muratori developed in works such as the dissertations XXVI (De militia saeculorum rudium in Italia) and XXXII (De origine linguae italicae) of his Antiquitates italicae Medii aevi. These researches concern the manuscript transmission of Urbicius’ Taktikón and of passage XII B 14 of the Strategiká, the Byzantine military strategy treaty attributed to Pseudo-Mauricius. After retrieving the text from R. Fabretti's collection of epigraphs and quoting his research sources, Muratori demonstrates that some of the linguistic characteristics of this passage provide further evidence of the fact that the vulnera inflicted to normative Latin grammar affect the development of vernacular Italian. The complex etymological research related – in particular – to the Greek term bandon (and derivatives), leads him to turn to German scholars and to the network of the Republic of Letters of his time

Abstract
The complex etymological research related – in particular – to the Greek term bandon (and derivatives), leads him to turn to German scholars and to the network of the Republic of Letters of his timeI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
