The appearance of anomalous swellings at the graft zone of 1-year-old bench-grafts is a problem that causes considerable economic losses to grapevine nurseries. The occurrence of this hyperplasia, also known as "testa grossa" (TG), has been studied comparing several graft combinations and techniques. The main factor influencing TG development is the graft combination. The oxidative stress component of this disorder has also been evaluated and more susceptible combinations show higher PPO and POD activities.
