The article presents a review of the literature on leadership for learning over a period of about 50 years. The analysis of the literature tries to create order in the apparent “babel of leadership”, by drawing up an integrated model, in which instructional, transformational and distributed leadership coexist. The paper argues that these forms of leadership are not in conflict with each other, but can be analysed using an integrated model of leadership for learning that involves standardisation of three complementary as- pects: the different types of practices (what), the ways in which they can be exercised (how), the people from whom such practices originate (who).

Abstract
The article presents a review of the literature on leadership for learning over a period of about 50 years. The analysis of the literature tries to create order in the apparent “babel of leadership”, by drawing up an integrated model, in which instructional, transformational and distributed leadership coexist. The paper argues that these forms of leadership are not in conflict with each other, but can be analysed using an integrated model of leadership for learning that involves standardisation of three complementary as- pects: the different types of practices (what), the ways in which they can be exercised (how), the people from whom such practices originate (who).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
