A set of inherent safety key performance indicators (IS-KPI) is presented. The application of integrated hazard identification techniques has provided relevant accident scenarios, yielding a basis to understand the credible safety distances and the actual risk performance of the system. The specific analysis of the loss of containment scenarios allowed the definition of leading KPI, based on worst-case consequence assessment. The safety performance of alternative LNG regasification technologies was studied. Reference technologies applicable to onshore and offshore terminals were reviewed, and reference schemes were developed. The application evidenced the potential of the KPI technique for pinpointing critical issues related to alternative configurations of regasification terminals.

Abstract
A set of inherent safety key performance indicators (IS-KPI) is presented. The application of integrated hazard identification techniques has provided relevant accident scenarios, yielding a basis to understand the credible safety distances and the actual risk performance of the system. The specific analysis of the loss of containment scenarios allowed the definition of leading KPI, based on worst-case consequence assessment. The safety performance of alternative LNG regasification technologies was studied. Reference technologies applicable to onshore and offshore terminals were reviewed, and reference schemes were developed. The application evidenced the potential of the KPI technique for pinpointing critical issues related to alternative configurations of regasification terminals.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
