The paper offers some critical considerations on some novelties deriving from the new archaeological excavations in Bologna concerning the Etruscan phase of the city. Analysis focuses in particular on some themes crucial for interpretation of the inhabited area in general terms, such as the boundaries, structures and monuments located in the suburban area and in the necropolis. The cippi found in Via Fondazza (dated to the Orientalizing Period) are re-examined in terms of their destination; moreover, a new interpretation of the structure recently named “Campo Marzio” is proposed.

Abstract
The paper offers some critical considerations on some novelties deriving from the new archaeological excavations in Bologna concerning the Etruscan phase of the city. Analysis focuses in particular on some themes crucial for interpretation of the inhabited area in general terms, such as the boundaries, structures and monuments located in the suburban area and in the necropolis. The cippi found in Via Fondazza (dated to the Orientalizing Period) are re-examined in terms of their destination; moreover, a new interpretation of the structure recently named “Campo Marzio” is proposed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
