The aim of this chapter is to focus on the complex relationship between evaluative morphology on the one hand and gender and number on the other, in order to point out and possibly explain the situations that are cross-linguistically more frequent. Because of the huge amount of available data and the different natures of the phenomena to be discussed, I will provide a descriptive sketch of the phenomena that are cross-linguistically most widespread. The theoretically relevant notions will be emphasised and relevant bibliographical references used in their analysis will be provided.

Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to focus on the complex relationship between evaluative morphology on the one hand and gender and number on the other, in order to point out and possibly explain the situations that are cross-linguistically more frequent. Because of the huge amount of available data and the different natures of the phenomena to be discussed, I will provide a descriptive sketch of the phenomena that are cross-linguistically most widespread. The theoretically relevant notions will be emphasised and relevant bibliographical references used in their analysis will be provided.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
