Abstract

A novel approach to generate ground-truth minutiae information (i.e., the precise location and characteristics of each minutia) is presented. The proposed technique is extremely useful for testing the semantic conformance of fingerprint feature extraction algorithms to the standard formats. The results of experiments aimed at evaluating the quality of feature extraction algorithms varying the fingerprint image quality are reported.
