The use of a time-modulated array (TMA) for wireless power transfer (WPT) purposes is described in this paper. The possibility to add the time as a further degree of freedom allows to have a highly dynamic reconfiguration of this kind of arrays. This capability is exploited to precisely energize tagged sensors, randomly placed in a room, through two distinct phases: i) only the two inner elements of the array are driven to localize the tags; ii) the whole 16-element TMA sends the power to the detected tags. The availability of a rigorous nonlinear/full-wave CAD platform allows to compare the behavior of different array topologies.

Abstract
The use of a time-modulated array (TMA) for wireless power transfer (WPT) purposes is described in this paper. The possibility to add the time as a further degree of freedom allows to have a highly dynamic reconfiguration of this kind of arrays. This capability is exploited to precisely energize tagged sensors, randomly placed in a room, through two distinct phases: i) only the two inner elements of the array are driven to localize the tags; ii) the whole 16-element TMA sends the power to the detected tags. The availability of a rigorous nonlinear/full-wave CAD platform allows to compare the behavior of different array topologies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
