New copolyesters of -pentadecalactone (PDL) and p-dioxanone (DO) were successfully synthesized with high molecular weight using a metal-free enzyme catalyst under mild reaction conditions. Copolymers with nearly random sequences of comonomer units along the chains were obtained over the whole range of composition. Thermal and crystalline properties of poly(PDL-co-DO)s, as a function of copolymer composition, were investigated by TGA, DSC and WAXS analyses. The thermal stability of PDO increases in copolymers with PDL units, provided that the PDL content is ≥ 30 mol%. All copolymers are highly crystalline and show isodimorphic behavior with a pseudoeutectic at 30:70 (PDL:DO) molar composition
