New collectors for electrospinning have been used in the fabrication of nanofibrous mats with controlled porosity in terms of nanofibers packing density. The collectors were composed of dielectric coatings applied over metal sheets in order to obtain a composite structure with controlled conductivity on the basis of coating composition and layer thickness. The composition and the geometry of the collectors were found to play a crucial role on the final nanofibers architecture and patterning of the obtained mats.
