Newly developed video monitoring systems offer data of improved quality for monitoring coastal zones effectively. In this work we present the capability of coastal monitoring by an inexpensive video and digital imaging system. The video system, deployed by EVS (Erdman Video System), began operation in September, 2006 at Igea Marina (Italy) and consists of two different acquisition systems: two digital still cameras and a video camera. We will present the system performance and preliminary analysis and results of shoreline change observed between October, 2006 and May, 2007 in Igea Marina.

Abstract
Newly developed video monitoring systems offer data of improved quality for monitoring coastal zones effectively. In this work we present the capability of coastal monitoring by an inexpensive video and digital imaging system. The video system, deployed by EVS (Erdman Video System), began operation in September, 2006 at Igea Marina (Italy) and consists of two different acquisition systems: two digital still cameras and a video camera. We will present the system performance and preliminary analysis and results of shoreline change observed between October, 2006 and May, 2007 in Igea Marina.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
