Externally bonded fiber composites can solve a large variety of problems in the field of structural rehabilitation. Moreover, they offer a simple and effective solution in seismic retrofit of structures. In the last ten years many experiments and analyses completed in Italy allowed a large group of Italian academics to draw an extended guide line code for the design and mounting of FRP systems. The applications of these systems is actually in Italy in a fast growing phase, and many installations have been designed and verified by using the code provisions. In the paper some very peculiar applications in the field of structural repair are presented. Cases related to retrofit of fire damaged structures or truck impacted bridges can be solved with the use of FRP in a straightforward and effective way. The Ferrari experience center and the AMA Group fire were solved by using externally bonded Carbon laminas and tows. The Omnia Express railway
