In the context of the Senigallia Urban Archaeological Project two important operations of preventive archaeology were carried out. The first intervention (via Cavallotti) revealed a dwelling pre-roman settlement dated to the V-IV century B.C. The second excavation (via Baroccio) discovered the remains of the city walls of Sena Gallica, the colony founded by the Roman at the beginning of the III century B.C. These new data allowed us to identify, on the one hand, the original form of the Roman colony and, on the other hand, to cast new light on the previous indigenous settlement. But, who were these pre-Roman?
