The paper presents a case of a zoonotic trasmission of orf virus infection during religious slaughtering. The patient seeked medical assistance due to the cutaneous papular rash on the trunk, arms and the extremities resembling erythema multiforme. The definitive diagnosis, of a complicated form of orf virus infection, was the consequence of a tight collaboration between physicians and veterinarians. The results confirm that orf virus infection is one of the causes of erythema multiforme in humans. This further case of complicated orf virus infection, after religious slaughtering, lead us to speculate that predisposing factors related to the ethnic background may contribute to the condition.

Abstract: | The paper presents a case of a zoonotic trasmission of orf virus infection during religious slaughtering. |
