Achievements: Our aim, during this beamtime at SYRMEP beamline was to deeply investigate the performances of this material as X-ray detector, exploiting thus the possibility to fabricate light-weight and fully bendable detectors operating in air at room temperature. In the devices characterized, TIPS-pentacene based solution was drop cast on gold interdigitated electrodes realized onto two different transparent and flexible plastic substrates, i.e. polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and PET covered with Parylene C, an insulating polymer commonly used as gate dielectric in organic transistors. We performed a full characterization of a novel organic devices for X-ray sensing applications, based on TIPS-pentacene deposited from solution onto light-weight and flexible plastic substrate. We tested the detector response to three different X-ray energies (10,17,25 keV) and several doses, with different time exposures (5,15,30 and 60s) obtaining sensitivity values up to several hundreds of nC/Gy at very low bias of 0.2 V. We also assess the possibility to use the detector under mechanical strain and give the first demonstration of a 2×2 pixelated matrix detector.
