The paper describes a general and rigorous procedure for the analysis/design of Impulse Radio-UWB links, based on the concurrent use of circuit-level and full-wave approaches. The general-purpose CAD approach here described takes into account all the phenomena which can affect the link performance: such as electromagnetic couplings between parts of the system, unwanted reflections among blocks, dispersive behavior of the radiating elements. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through the co-design of a transmitted-reference receiver connected to a dual-mode tag, able to simultaneously communicate in the UWB band and harvest energy in the UHF band.

Abstract
The paper describes a general and rigorous procedure for the analysis/design of Impulse Radio-UWB links, based on the concurrent use of circuit-level and full-wave approaches. The general-purpose CAD approach here described takes into account all the phenomena which can affect the link performance: such as electromagnetic couplings between parts of the system, unwanted reflections among blocks, dispersive behavior of the radiating elements. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through the co-design of a transmitted-reference receiver connected to a dual-mode tag, able to simultaneously communicate in the UWB band and harvest energy in the UHF band.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
