The topic of this paper is the planning of a Geographical Information System for the growing management, based on the integration of different type of data, and particularly satellite images. A lot of data concerning crops are existing for the study area, but they are not always updated and, mainly, not made public by different Agencies that produce them. For this reason, there is a need of a freely open system enabling all users and, in particular, researchers and scientists, to deepen the study of the land use and its variations in a high vulnerable ecological area. In this frame, the main purposes are, from one side, the integrated management of all data and, from the other side, their fast and constant updating. The recurrent and seasonal growing updating will be made through the information coming from Aster images classification, available at frequent time intervals, and will be managed through specific procedures implemented in a geographical Database.

Abstract
The topic of this paper is the planning of a Geographical Information System for the growing management, based on the integration of different type of data, and particularly satellite images. A lot of data concerning crops are existing for the study area, but they are not always updated and, mainly, not made public by different Agencies that produce them. For this reason, there is a need of a freely open system enabling all users and, in particular, researchers and scientists, to deepen the study of the land use and its variations in a high vulnerable ecological area. In this frame, the main purposes are, from one side, the integrated management of all data and, from the other side, their fast and constant updating. The recurrent and seasonal growing updating will be made through the information coming from Aster images classification, available at frequent time intervals, and will be managed through specific procedures implemented in a geographical Database.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
