In this work a hybrid organic-inorganic coating, obtained with a sol-gel process from tetraethoxysilane and a polyethylene-polyethlenglycol block copolymer, was prepared in three different compositions and applied by spin coating to untreated and plasma treated LDPE films. The adhesion between coating and LDPE was characterized by fragmentation tests: an increase in coating strength, elongation at break and in adhesion with increasing organic fraction is observed along with the beneficial effect of surface plasma treatment.

Abstract
In this work a hybrid organic-inorganic coating, obtained with a sol-gel process from tetraethoxysilane and a polyethylene-polyethlenglycol block copolymer, was prepared in three different compositions and applied by spin coating to untreated and plasma treated LDPE films. The adhesion between coating and LDPE was characterized by fragmentation tests: an increase in coating strength, elongation at break and in adhesion with increasing organic fraction is observed along with the beneficial effect of surface plasma treatment.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
