The Codex XV (13) of Verona Capitular Library was seriously damaged by the chemicals used in the nineteenth century by palaeographers. Today, the method of acquisition and subsequent processing of digital gigapixel images (Multispectral Images RGB/UV/IR) permit to separate and to recover the different scriptures overlapping in the Veronese Code, reaching to a "digital restoration" of the precious manuscript. In this paper is analyzed the sheet 61v that contains Gaius Institutes 3, 53, explaining how it is possible to reconstruct the original layer (scriptio prior) even when there is a hole in the parchment.

Abstract
The Codex XV (13) of Verona Capitular Library was seriously damaged by the chemicals used in the nineteenth century by palaeographers. Today, the method of acquisition and subsequent processing of digital gigapixel images (Multispectral Images RGB/UV/IR) permit to separate and to recover the different scriptures overlapping in the Veronese Code, reaching to a "digital restoration" of the precious manuscript. In this paper is analyzed the sheet 61v that contains Gaius Institutes 3, 53, explaining how it is possible to reconstruct the original layer (scriptio prior) even when there is a hole in the parchment.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
