After a long process of transitions, Romania gets ready to enter in the European Union. Agriculture plays an important role in such accession. While in ‘90s the debate was above all concentrated on the reform and the necessities of trans-formation in agriculture, on one side, and on the strategies of delocalizzazion of the Italian enterprises, from the other, today the perspective appears substan-tially modified. The topic of greatest interest appears given by the opportunities of co development of Romanian agriculture, for which new opportunities one up, and of Italian agriculture, characterized by increasing economic difficulties. In such a picture, the objective of the study is to analyse the strategies of the Italian entrepreneurs in Romania and to verify their opinion about the future of their activities, in view of the entrance of Romania in the UE. The research has been carried out by means of a questionnaire submitted to 25 Italian business-man in Romania, mostly working in agriculture and the food industry. The results show a general trust in Romanian society. The accession will bring contrasting effects on the pretensions of the companies to invest in Romania. However, for agriculture and land investments, the advantages of accession are generally perceived as higher than disadvantages. The most interesting profile that seems to emerge is that one of agricultural enterprises by now international-ized, that aim at the same time to maintain their own activity in Italy and Roma-nia.
