Note su alcuni siti fortificati d'età ellenistica della media valle della Pavla, Epiro

SITARC is a project shared between the Department of Archaeology of the University of Bolonga and the Archaeological Institute of Tirana, with the support of the Italian Archaeological Mission at Phoinike. The project aims to examine and study the territory of ancient Caonia, as well as to create a GIS-based archaeological map with an online database. This article presents a portion of this territory, the valley of the Pavla River, which, for a long time and for various reasons, has been ignored by archaeological studies. Only the Hellenistic phase will be considered here, during which an important and centralized organization focused on controlling the territory – often not without a certain monumentality – can be detected.
