The predictors of civic and political participation among native Italian and migrant Youth in Italy are the focus of this chapter, in which the authors investigate the explanatory role of organisational membership and the quality of participation in such organisations, testing two mediating factors of the association between organisational membership and civic and political participation drawn from theoretical perspecitves in community psychology: sense of community and social well being. The findings support the role of organisational membership among both majority and migrant Youth in Italy. They also confirm that the nature and quality of participatory activities and their potential for Learning and building competences are crucial factors, especially for migrants.
