Il contributo rappresenta la principale sintesi delle importanti ricerche archeologiche compiute nella città romana di Suasa (Ancona) in anni recenti, in particolare negli anni 2010-2012. Le ricerche sono state eseguite su concessione Ministeriale dall'Università di Bologna e co-dirette dai due autori dell'intervento. Si mette in evidenza l'importanza dei risultati ottenuti per quanto riguarda l'assetto urbanistico della città, l'architettura templare e in genale pubblica, le necropoli, il rapporto con il territorio. The last archaeological research carried out in the roman town of Suasa allow us to better understand the urban texture of the ancient center. In particular, the recent surveys along the “Via del Foro” have shed new light on this monumental area, as well as on the func- tions of the several buildings that gave on the urban road, defining the eastern side of the public square. Additionally, the new excavations carried out in the southern necropoli, the so called “Necropoli orientale”, discovered a new important funerary context, which revealed a sequence of use’s phases, from the II century BC to the II century AD. These burials stretched out along the two sides of the road, which appears to be the oldest one archaeologically attested. The new acquisitions have stimulated a new reconstructive hypothesis of the ancient lands division system in the ager suasanus.
