The article analyses the metadesign process, following a subdivision into four main phases: design research, scenarios elaboration, conception and implementation. Focusing especially on the two intermediary phases, the article presents the results of an action-research experience that we developed within a security door company. This experience helps to understand how design contributes to the strategic development and the innovation of the companies.

Abstract
