Elaeocyma dertonensis nom. nov. is proposed for Drillia exilis Bellardi, 1877 not Drillia exilis Pease, 1868 from the Upper Miocene (Tortonian) of Stizzano, Italy. Based on protoconch sculpture and teleoconch development of spiral sculpture, the species is assigned to genus Elaeocyma Dall, 1918 in the family Turridae H. & A. Adams, 1853.
