Humanistic design to envision new meanings. Some case studies from the contemporary history of Italian design

What do humanistic design and humanist designer mean? Is there an unambiguous interpretation? Obviously it is a rhetorical question: this is a concept which has not yet been defined and which could have numerous interpretations. Is there a humanistic component in the Italian design culture which distinguishes it from other professional and industrial contexts and approaches? This article gives a possible answer through practical examples, referring to existing interpretations and focusing in particular on the concept of innovation hidden behind them.
