If in The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933) and The Prince of Foxes (1949) they describe the heroes psychologies, in Les visiteurs du soir (1942) and Addio fratello crudele (1971) the set tables illustrate the atmospheres of the Renaissance and at the same time establish a social and esthetic relationship with the present of the shots.
