The paper reports on a three-year intense research project carried out in some Crèches in Paris. The heterogeneity of the service typologies offered to infants and the related modes de accueil present in the vast area of the ville lumiere, the different pedagogical identities characterizing the educational styles, provide a very fertile soil for the inquiry, although they make the present work quite complex. Undertaking an action research in two different Countries mainly implies having a free of pre-judices look, committed to migrating from one context to the other through a due comparative caution, because of the peculiar differences defining them. This process cannot then refrain from a necessary thrust to contextualization and ethical commitment to the research.
