T his paper attempts to analyse and give an exact definition of six frequently used terms that dictionaries give as synomymous (friendliness, education, courtesy, good manners, civility) in order to distinguish and classify different situations where a conflict could appear due to a “lack of education”. T he results of this study can be applied to both mediation lessons and to the field of lexicography, as a definition of each term is proposed.
