Terrorism and the Internet have become two of the most popular terms on media and among the public. The idea of bringing terrorism on the Internet and thus giving birth to "cyberterrorism" seems very appealying. Such event would have cataclismatic effects on societies so dependent on information infrastructures. But is this scenario real? Does it make sense for terrorism organization to invenst its resources on this endeavour or is it a wasted effort? Should those resourcs put on more "traditional" tools like suicide-bombs? Using cost-benefit analysis, this article shows that, fort he time being, it is more efficient for terrorissts to keep their resources (and hopes) on those traitionla methods they have so successfully applied until now.

Abstract
Terrorism and the Internet have become two of the most popular terms on media and among the public. The idea of bringing terrorism on the Internet and thus giving birth to "cyberterrorism" seems very appealying. Such event would have cataclismatic effects on societies so dependent on information infrastructures. But is this scenario real? Does it make sense for terrorism organization to invenst its resources on this endeavour or is it a wasted effort? Should those resourcs put on more "traditional" tools like suicide-bombs? Using cost-benefit analysis, this article shows that, fort he time being, it is more efficient for terrorissts to keep their resources (and hopes) on those traitionla methods they have so successfully applied until now.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
