Malvasia goes on describing Girolamo Curti, called Dentone (1575-1632) “Fu del chiaroscuro forse il primo, ma certo il miglior introduttore in Bologna; e come i Carracci nelle figure, così egli nella quadratura attaccandosi al naturale, venne a liberarla da un certo fantastico ideale […]”.The painted architecture on the walls finds a logical continuation in the sfondati of the vault, in this way Curti obtains a physical and emotional involvement of those who pass that rooms, like when he worked in one’s capacity as a scene-painter. On the realistic alternation of the lights and the shadows that points out the division of the space along the loggia and the loggia passante Curti comes back with the knowledge of a scene-painter by the definition of details on the ceiling of the salone in the Malvasia house at Trebbo di Reno. In the last decade due to numerous property changes the residence Malvasia at Trebbo di Reno has lost any form of functionality, closed to visits, a wild and abundant vegetation has concealed any last sign of the splendour and variety of the internal decorations. Moreover it has been demaged by acts of vandalism, destined to be repeated, that have sadly covered the rooms.

Abstract
